Additional sandbag distribution events scheduled for July 19 and 26

The City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) and Tlingit & Haida are partnering to host two sandbag distribution events later this month at the Dimond Park Field House. Events will be held on:

• Saturday, July 19 – 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

• Saturday, July 26 – 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

These events aim to help residents prepare for potential flooding along the Mendenhall River.

What to Expect

• Sand, empty bags, and shovels will be provided for public use.

• Pre-filled sandbags will not be available.

• Space will be available for residents to fill their own bags on site.

• Volunteers may be on hand to assist.

• 
  

Important Guidelines

• Households located within the predicted 18-foot flood inundation area may collect up to 75 sandbags, including those that participated in a previous sandbag distribution event(s).

• Supplies are limited. Please take only what you need to help ensure availability for others in need.
