JDHS began play Monday, will be serving up aces through Saturday

The Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé tennis team has begun play in the 2026 Region V Tennis Championships at The Alaska Club Juneau Valley Tennis Courts.

The tournament began Monday and play continues through Saturday. Six brackets include Boys Doubles, Boys Singles, Girls Doubles, Girls Singles, Mixed Doubles and Open Singles.

The JDHS tennis roster includes seniors Fallon “Riley” Dale, Daniel Degener, Katherine Hieb, Isaac Hill, Aurora Madsen, and Stahly Sheehan; juniors Summit Bos, Delphine Hochstoeger, Freyja Shelton-Walker and Grace “Gracie” Snyder; sophomores Mia Alexander, Naisha Bathija, Luca Ciambor, Isaac Kirsch, Oscar Lamb, Vince Nizich, Oliver Rogers, Murphy Sheehan, Tanner Schultz and Paxton Willoughby; and freshmen Max Hayes, Gabriel McGuan, Ian McWilliams, Aeson Stekoll, Chloe Travis, Shaylynn Tupou and Vadim Zimmerman.

Boys doubles teams include Hayes & Lamb; Hill & McWilliams, Degener and Kirsch, Rogers and Willoughby.

Girls doubles include Alexander & Hochstoeger, S. Sheehan and Snyder, Dale & Madsen, and Bathija & Hieb.

Boy singles include Lamb, Hayes, Kirsch, McWilliams, Rogers, Degener, Hill, and Willoughby.

Girls singles include Dale, Alexander, S. Sheehan, Hieb, Bathija, Madsen, Hochstoeger and Snyder.

Mixed doubles include Hayes & Snyder, Alexander & Lamb, Bathija & Hill, S. Sheehan & Willoughby, Degener & Hieb, Dale & McWilliams, Hochstoeger & Kirsch, and Madsen & Rogers.

Open singles include Stekoll, Nizich, Ciambor, McGuan, Travis, Tupou, and M. Sheehan.

The Crimson Bears will also honor their seniors at Saturday’s final matches.

The Region V tennis tournament results are updated nightly. The tournament decides who will represent JDHS at the 2026 ASAA / First National Bank Alaska Tennis State Championships at Anchorage’s Alaska Club East. The state tournament is hosted this season by ASAA, Alaska Club, and South Anchorage High School.
