Sponsors of the Juneau Independent
Our mindset is to provide independent, local journalism free of charge as a public service, rather than for profit. Sponsors help make that financially possible with a shared commitment on behalf of the community.

How is sponsorship different from an advertisement?
To meet legal parameters of a tax-deductible donation to the Juneau Independent as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the following parameters apply:
• A sponsorship shows support for the Juneau Independent’s mission. An ad seeks to sell goods, services, etc.
• A sponsorship consists of the supporter's logo or a similar image, but not promotional content usually seen in ads.
• A sponsorship is a major contribution for a six- or 12-month period. An ad is shorter term (typically monthly).
