Follow the money

A quick internet search finds that 9% of the current U.S. cabinet secretaries are billionaires and 35% of the current administration are worth over $100 million. Millionaires make up 73% of the U.S. Senate and 50% of the House. Only 10% of Americans are millionaires and only 0.005% are worth over $100 million. Why would our ultra-wealthy politicians actually represent the needs of average Americans?  They do not!

Ultra-wealthy politicians have created a culture war in this country by dividing us while they continue to amass wealth and consolidate power. While we argue and fight about abortion, trans rights, immigration and more, the rich quietly put more money into their own pockets through tax breaks, mergers, and wars. They maintain their control by limiting our voting rights through executive orders and legislation. 

Why would the ultra-wealthy worry about gas or food prices, or even outrageous medical costs? They can afford it. They create a smokescreen of blaming the most vulnerable people in our country for all of our problems while they steal the resources that keep us all alive: clean air, drinkable water, fertile farmland. 

Issues surrounding abortion, trans rights, and immigration need to be worked out with civility and cooperation from all sides. The polarization on these topics is not only toxic; it is an intentional divide-and-conquer method that has worked throughout history.  We need to fight this with all the determination and humanity we can muster.  We must work together.

I am not going to tell you who to vote for. I just ask that you follow the money in your districts and find out which candidates serve the ultra-rich, and which serve you, the American people. Not planning on voting? Well you may as well just send the rich your wallet, credit cards and house. They will take it all if we let them.
