Team swims at 2026 Bellevue Club Premier Invitational among Pacific Northwest's best

Juneau’s Glacier Swim Club competed at the 2026 Bellevue Club Premier Invitational last week among the best talent from the Pacific Northwest. The meet is on par with the Speedo Sectional meet that was moved from Federal Way to Boise, Idaho.


According to information provided by GSC coach Daemon Vargas and public relations assistant Savona Kiessling following are some of the results and best times at the meet.


Valerie Piemann (age 17) set best times in the finals, swimming the 100 back in 57.43 (1.25 drop) for 19th place, 400 IM in 4.32.03 (1.63 drop) for 18th place and 200 back in 2:04.23 (0.03 drop) for 15th place, and set a best time in the 200 IM in 2:09.13 (24.99 drop). Piemann had brought in 17 pts before the final night of swimming. She also swam the 100 free in 53.23.


Kaden Aldrich (14) set best times in the 200 free in 1:50.39 (1.19 drop) and 200 IM in 2:04.22 (1.55 drop). He also swam the 100 free in 49.56, 100 free time trial 49.16, 50 free in 23.12 and a 200 fly time trial in 2:11.15.


Josh Edwards (17) set best times in the 200 breast in 2:14.76 (3.62 drop), 200 free in 1:49.67 (0.97 drop), 100 fly in 54.37 (2.09 drop) and 200 IM  2:02.18 (0.50 drop). He also swam a 100 breast time trial in 1:02.07.


Liam Kiessling (16) set best times in the 100 free in 49.05 (1.12 drop), 100 fly in 52.77 (1.76 drop) and 200 IM in 2:00.37 (1.88 drop). He also swam the 100 back in 54.08 and 200 back in 2:03.48.


Bailey Fisher (17) set a best time in the 200 free in 2:07.09 (0.64 drop). She also swam the 100 free in 56.89, 200 free in 2:07.09, 50 free in 26.09 and a 100 fly time trial in 1:08.90.


Amy Liddle (16) set a best time in the 100 breast in 1:07.58 (1.00 drop). She also swam the 100 free in 55.11, 200 fly in 2:14.27, 400 IM in 4:40.67, 100 fly in 58.77 and 200 IM in 2:11.19.


Kennedy Miller (16) set best times in the 200 breast in 2:31.56 (2.48 drop) and 50 free in 26.15 (0.31 drop). Miller also swam the 100 fly in 1:01.74.


Lily Francis (17) swam the 100 free in 55.82, 50 free in 24.80, 100 back in 1:02.61 and 100 fly in 1:02.30.


Cora Soboleff (14) swam the 200 breast in 2.39.18, 500 free in 5:41.78 and the 200 IM with a disqualification.


The Women’s 200 medley relay of Peimann (28.01 back) Miller (31.31 breast), Liddle (26.29 fly) and Francis (24.49 free) went 1:50.10 for 21st place - dropping over five seconds from their 31st place seed/entry time of 1:55.29.


The Women’s 200 free relay of Fisher (26.18), Peimann (25.89), Soboleff (26.57) and Francis (24.14) hit 1:42.78 for 27th place - they had a 16th place seed time of 1:39.56.


The Women’s 400 free relay of Francis (54.99), Peimann (53.19), Fisher (58.76) and Liddle (54.78) touched in 3:41.72 for 24th place - they had set a 16th place seed time of 3:35.20.


The Women’s 400 medley relay of Liddle (1:01.82 back), Soboleff (1:14.91 breast), Fisher (1:13.69 fly) and Miller (58.38 free) swam a 4:28.80 - they swam an entry time of 4:04.55.


There were not enough male GSC swimmers at the meet for relay competition.


GSC placed 32nd among the 40-plus teams attending despite having just 10 swimmers. Top team Seattle Metropolitan Aquatic Club had 80-plus members competing. The Chugiak Aquatics Club placed 19th with 13 swimmers, the Aquatic Foundation of Alaska YETI 27th with five swimmers and YETI swimmer Nate Shockley swam unattended and placed last in team points.


GSC will also be sending nine swimmers to the Northwest Regional Age Group Championships in Federal Way beginning Thursday. That meet is for 14-and-under swimmers. Attending will be C. Soboleff and 12-year-olds Molly Woodruff, Austin Treston, Sam Thatcher, Anabelle Sullivan, Grace Propsom and Oliver Albrect; 11 year-old Matisse Suarez and 10 year-old Emily Treston.
