February's First Friday will feature artist pop-ups, a science and art exhibit, and a radio theater performance

Alaska State Museum: Myesha Callahan Freet | embrace. reflect. release.

Callahan Freet's inspiration and focus draw from an ongoing exploration into the evolution of self through examining her roles in relationships. Dedicated to a search for meaning and connection in the mundane, she aims to embrace life’s expansion and to reflect on what it means to be and release what no longer is. “I aim to embrace the commitment that caring for others requires."
Callahan Freet is one of six artists selected for the Alaska State Museum 2024–2026 Solo Artist Exhibition Series, along with artists Shgendootan George, Joel Isaak Łiq’a yes, Ree Nancarrow, Golga Oscar and Tamara Wilson.

Juneau Arts & Humanities Council: The Unseen Ocean Collective

The Unseen Ocean Collective is an art/science collaboration inspired by the exploration of Alaska’s deep waters, revealing hidden coral ecosystems that play a vital role in Alaska’s marine environment.

Juneau Ghost Light Theatre & KTOO: JGLT On the Air Presents: The Case of the Aspiring Actress
7-8 p.m.
360 Egan Dr.
This original radio theatre noir comedy by Hetty LaVerne, "The Case of the Aspiring Actress: A Detective Seau N. Sew Mystery," follows Detective Seau N. Sew, a 1940s gumshoe as he tracks down a missing roommate. Listeners can tune in from their living room or hear the show live at the KTOO 360 Studio.

Juneau-Douglas City Museum: Dave Wetzel, painter

Atmospheric Landscapes is a new exhibition of oil paintings depicting local familiar landscapes. Through his choices of color, line, and shape, Wetzel seeks to emulate the otherworldly beauty that exists in Juneauites' backyards.

Amalga Distillery: Ruby Rouser & Lee Burkhart Pop Up

Artists Ruby Rouser and Lee Burkhart will feature their sweetheart earring collection — copper engraved hearts by Burkhart paired with woven pastel shades of candy glass by Rouser. Amalga Distillery will be sampling their newest release of Flagship Single Malt Whiskey.

Devils Club Brewing Company: Mel Izard, Celestial Bodies

Celestial Bodies is a collection of upcycled hoodies sourced from local thrift stores and swaps featuring both astronomical bodies and animal bodies. The artist is inspired by Earth, outer space, and all the fantasy worlds they read about. Size range of S-4XL available, with custom orders open for any size.

Kindred Post will host a collage night using old postcards, paper scraps, and stickers. Attendees will get a postcard and stamp to send off their creations, with additional postage for sale.
