Ice Breaker Tournament heads to Sunday

Early elimination games will lead to championship finals

The Thunder Mountain Middle School Icebreaker Tournament wrapped up pool play action on Saturday inside the TMHS main and auxiliary gymnasiums and teams now advance to single-elimination bracket play on Sunday.


The boys Gold bracket first games are at 9 a.m. with the Thunder Mountain Falcons Blue-B vs. Sitka Huskies Blue-B in game one and TMMS Black-A vs. Haines Glacier Bears-A in game two. Semifinal action at 12:40 p.m. pits the Sitka Huskies Red-A against the game one winner and the Hoonah Braves against the winner of game two. The Gold championship game is at 6:30 p.m.

The girls bracket begins at 10:20 a.m. with the Yakutat Lady Eagles vs. Angoon and TMMS Lady Falcons White vs. White Horse Lady Lynx. At 11:30 a.m. the TMMS Lady Falcons Black play Haines Lady Glacier Bears White and the Hoonah Lady Braves play the Haines Lady Glacier Bears. Semifinals are at 1:50 p.m. and finals at 4:10 p.m.

The boys Silver bracket begins at 3 p.m. with the TMMS Falcons White-C playing the Angoon Eagles and the Yakutat Eagles playing the Haines Glacier Bears-B. The winners play in the Silver championship at 5:20 p.m.
