A 55-year-old Juneau man is facing two charges of sexual abuse of a minor following a seven-month investigation of alleged actions involving a minor between 2014 and 2017.
Travis William Carlile was arrested on the evening of July 2 and incarcerated at Lemon Creek Correctional Center after being indicted by a grand jury the same day, according to court and police records. The indictment was for two counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor, a Class B felony.
"The investigation began in December 2025 after the Juneau Police Department received a report alleging the sexual abuse of a minor," a JPD information release issued Wednesday states.
The indictment states the alleged abuse occurred to a person under 16 years old living at his home.
Carlile was arraigned on July 3 and subsequently released on $75,000 bail, according to the Alaska Court System online database. His next scheduled court hearing is Thursday.
