A Juneau man convicted of two counts of sexually abusing a child under 13 in the home he was living at was sentenced Friday to 35 years in prison, with 13 years suspended, according to court records.

Sebastian Leorna, 70, reached a plea agreement with prosecutors on two counts of second-degree aggravated sexual abuse of a minor, according to a press release issued by the Alaska Department of Law. He originally faced six sexual abuse-related charges following his arrest in March of 2025, for incidents that occurred in February and March of that year.

A charging document states that Leorna was brought to the Juneau Police Department by a relative on March 16, 2025, with the relative stating Leorna was molesting a child at the house he lived in. The court file states Leorna admitted touching the child inappropriately.

The Department of Law’s press release states: "The victim's mother submitted a detailed and thoughtful written impact statement to the court, which included a message to her daughter: ‘I want to say: we believe you. We see what this did to you. We know it was wrong. And none of it was your fault.’"

Superior Court Judge Amy Mead also sentenced Leorna to 25 years of supervised felony probation following his release from prison, as a lifetime sex offender registry requirement.
