This is a developing story.

A man on a motorcycle was killed in a collision with a postal vehicle Thursday afternoon on North Douglas Highway, according to Juneau Police Department Deputy Chief Krag Campbell.

JPD was notified about the accident in the 3900 block of North Douglas Highway at 2:23 p.m., he said. Details about the accident are still under investigation and the man’s name is not being released as officials try to notify his next of kin.

Campbell said he is not aware of any other injuries in the accident. The road was closed after emergency responders arrived at the scene, although motorists reported limited traffic was flowing about an hour later.
