Police blotter for Sept. 26

Attempt to Serve

At 2:27 p.m. on Friday, Justin Ridinger, 42, was arrested on Trout Street for trespassing and five $25 warrants. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.


Death Investigation

At 1:28 a.m. on Friday, the Juneau Police Department initiated a confidential death investigation. Next of kin has been notified.


Disabled Vehicle

At 10:23 p.m. on Friday, a 2005 red Honda was impounded.


Disturbance

At 4:07 p.m. on Friday, Joseph Jacobs, 49, was arrested on 10th Street for assault. He was taken to LCCC. Alcohol was a factor.


Search and Rescue

At 1:10 p.m. on Friday, Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Juneau received a report of a person who had hiked up the Mt. Roberts Trail and become lost on steep terrain. The individual could see downtown Juneau, but was unsure how to get down safely. He reported that he was not dressed for the weather and had no food or water. Juneau Mountain Rescue (JMR) was requested for assistance and began planning a rescue. At 5:12 p.m., JMR located the individual and assisted him back to the trail and down the mountain.


Theft

At 3:36 p.m. on Friday, a 44-year-old female reported the theft of a bicycle on Dimond Park Loop. JPD was able to recover the bicycle.
