CBJ Visitor Industry Task Force extends work, public testimony set for Nov. 5

To accommodate additional conversations on visitor industry topics, the City and Borough of Juneau’s Visitor Industry Task Force (VITF) calendar has been updated to continue through December 2026. The updated schedule can be found at juneau.org/assembly/visitor-industry-task-force. Meetings added include Saturday, Oct. 10, where the VITF will engage in an extended work session to discuss draft recommendations in greater detail. 

Additionally, the second public testimony meeting has moved to Thursday, Nov. 5. This meeting will the held in the Mendenhall Valley Library in the large meeting room and will be available via Zoom. Public comment can also be made by emailing the City Clerk’s office at city.clerk@juneau.gov. 

The VITF’s draft recommendations will be made available to the public following the Oct. 22 meeting and will be finalized at the Nov. 12 meeting after public comment. Members of the public are encouraged to submit their comments prior to Nov. 12 for consideration in the final report. The VITF will reconvene on Dec. 17 to finalize the report and forward it to the Assembly, where it will be considered for adoption.
