Petersburg resident Dan J. Sullivan’s challenge to the state Division of Elections decertifying him as a U.S. Senate candidate is scheduled to be livestreamed at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Alaska Court System’s website. The hearing is at the Nesbett Courthouse in Anchorage.

The website’s livestream page is https://stream.akcourts.gov. The case number is 3AN-26-07485CI.
Documents filed in the case are the court system’s Most Requested Case Files webpage. As of 8 a.m. Thursday morning it is the last case on the page.

Sullivan, a retired teacher, filed the appeal on Monday after his candidacy was invalidated June 15 by Alaska Division of Elections Director Carol Beecher, who stated it was "filed with a purpose to confuse or mislead" voters into mistaking him for incumbent Sen. Dan S. Sullivan. Dan J. Sullivan asserts the state doesn’t have the legal authority to remove him from the ballot for the reasons cited.
Superior Court Judge Thomas Matthews agreed Tuesday to expedite the case when attorneys for both sides said they expect his ruling will be appealed to the Alaska Supreme Court. State elections officials say a final ruling is needed by noon on June 30 in order to include the Petersburg resident on printed ballots.
