JPD seeks community help in locating missing woman

The Juneau Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Juneau resident Lauralee Josephene Peters, 37, who was reported missing Thursday.

JPD received a report that Peters had not been seen or heard from for approximately one week. She was injured in early July and has since traveled to Wrangell and Anchorage for medical treatment. Peters was last known to be in Juneau, according to the police department.

"She may be walking with a cane and may have difficulty climbing stairs," the press release notes, adding she is known to frequent downtown Juneau.

Peters is described as Alaska Native, weighing approximately 200 pounds and about five feet and three inches tall. She has black hair and brown eyes, according to the release.

Anyone who has recently seen Peters or has information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact JPD at 907-586-0600. Anonymous tips can be made through juneaucrimeline.com.
