Labor Day picnic hosted by Juneau Central Labor Council on Monday

The Juneau Central Labor Council invites the community to the organization’s annual Labor Day Picnic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, at the Savikko Park log cabin shelter.

Labor Day and this gathering is more than just a chance to barbecue and enjoy one another’s company. It’s time to celebrate the hard-working men and women whose work keeps Juneau moving. Labor Day gives us a moment to recognize the dignity of work and the value of working people. Nationwide and in Alaska organized labor continues to fight for workplace safety, fair wages, good benefits, and our constitutional rights on the job.

Whether you are in a union or not, we hope you will join us on Monday. Come enjoy some food, meet your neighbors, bring your family, and celebrate the working people who make Juneau the great town we are proud to call home.
