Congregation Sukkat Shalom, the reform Jewish synagogue in Juneau, mourns the terror attack on Temple Israel, in Bloomfield, Michigan. Our thoughts and prayers are with the congregants, clergy, families, staff, and the entire Detroit Jewish community.
As beautifully stated in the Jewish Federation of Arkansas newsletter, “A synagogue is meant to be a sanctuary of safety and a home of peace. When violence targets a house of worship or a community, it strikes at the very core of our shared values and threatens the freedom of every American to practice their faith safely. The Jewish community in America is no different-we have the right to exist and will not be intimidated into forfeiting that right.”
Congregation Sukkat Shalom remains committed to supporting one another, strengthening our communities, and ensuring that our houses of worship remain places of peace, dignity, and safety for all.
