And down they came! Volunteers from Friends of the Flags, Tourism Best Management Practices, Travel Juneau, and CBJ gathered in the early hours of September 26th to remove the state flags along Egan Drive’s waterfront downtown.

Thanks to all who volunteered and assisted with a successful removal of the flags. Friends of the Flags appreciates the community’s commitment to continue flying the flags each year, and we look forward to them going back up in 2027.

Thank you to these individuals who volunteered for this project: Miller Rowe, Daren Booten, Midgi Moore, Vespasia Whitmore, Yoel Guillen, Mireya Cordero, Kirby Day, Liz Perry, Robert Mountcastle, Sophie Lee, Koneal Laguidao, Elisha Orosco, Zander Kotlarov, Kymberly Kotlarov, JPD Officer Nico Burris.

Additional thanks and gratitude go to Tyler Rental, KTOO, JPD, CBJ Engineering, CBJ Docks & Harbors, Alaska DOT, Tourism Best Management Practices, Travel Juneau, Cruise Line Agencies of Alaska, and Holland America-Princess for additional support.

And special thanks to the Triangle Club Bar for creating the fundraising promotion opportunity and the auctioning of the Alaska Flag and others that flew over Egan Drive in 2026 to benefit Friends of the Flags.
