Carl is survived by his wife, Dianna Christensen (Cooper); brothers, Russell Christensen (Jennifer), and Don Admire, of Juneau, Alaska; nephew, Aidan Christensen, and niece, Mackenzie Christensen, of Juneau, Alaska; uncle, Matt Christensen (Ina), of Coos Bay, Oregon; aunt, Vernette Christensen, of Junction City, Oregon; stepfather, Jim Laycock (Lucy), of Yuma, Arizona; stepmother, Cheryl Christensen, of Juneau, Alaska; stepsiblings, Jennifer Hayes, William Hayes, and Ed Hayes of Juneau, Alaska; stepsibling, Steve Allen, of Lincoln City, Oregon; and many cousins and extended family.
Carl is preceded in death by his mother, Judy Laycock (Rone), of Roseburg, Oregon; his father, Albert Christensen, of Juneau, Alaska; brother, David Admire, of Juneau, Alaska; and uncle, Herb Christensen, of Junction City, Oregon.
Carl and his younger brother, Russell, moved to Juneau as teenagers to live with their father Albert and stepmother Beverly Christensen (Allen).
Carl worked with his father, Albert, and his brother, Russell, in the family drywalling and painting business, Southeast Interiors, Inc., established in 1972. Albert taught both of his sons the necessary skills to operate a successful family business. Carl not only became a skilled drywaller and painter, but he also incorporated his father’s business values into his everyday work; a job is not done until it is done right. After his father retired in 2015, Carl and Russell formed C & R Interiors, Inc. Carl continued managing the family business until his own health issues forced him to retire early in 2025.
Carl was an avid fisherman and loved fishing the waters around Juneau. He spent many happy hours with his father and younger brother on the family boat. He also loved spending time camping and enjoyed exploring the countryside with his younger brother. He was a member of the Juneau Golf Club and Moose Lodge. He enjoyed playing golf often with his father, brothers Russell and Don, and friends and participated in several golf tournaments. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends watching the national football games and other sporting events during social gatherings he hosted at his home.
A joint Celebration of Life for Carl and his recently deceased father, Albert, will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 12 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Juneau, Alaska. Family and friends are invited to attend to share stories and memories in honor of both father and son.
