Obituary: Ryan Patrick Ward

With deep love, we remember Ryan, a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. Ryan’s path had its challenges, but his heart was unfailingly kind.

Born on Sept. 11, 1979, Ryan was mostly raised in Anchorage, Alaska. He spent some time in Oceanside, California, as a young boy, where he learned to surf — eventually leading him to a ski patrol job outside of Anchorage.

A skilled airline mechanic and passionate baker, he found joy in cooking almost as much as he enjoyed playing golf. His greatest pride was his son, Aidan (17).

He is survived by his father, Ken; his stepmom, Mic, who was like a second mother; his sisters Natalie and Anna; and his brothers Keven, Michael, and Buzz. He was predeceased by his mother, Deborah and loving stepfather, Gary.

Though his life was cut short, we will always hold dear his warmth, his care, and the love he had for his family. A celebration of Ryan’s life will be held at Ward Air on June 6, 2026, from 5-8 p.m.
