VeNita Ellen Orcutt, 57, walked into the forest on September 26, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska. She was born in Ketchikan to Clyde “Snapper” Orcutt and Julia Colcord (Fawcett), but made her home in Juneau with her children.

She was predeceased by her parents, her son William Tavares IV, and her brother Clyde Orcutt, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Alexandria Roehl, her three grandchildren Zoe, Owen, and Skye, sisters Lisa Peterson of Vancouver, Washington, and Kathy Mahan of Cottage Grove, Oregon, and many cousins who were loved like siblings.
A gathering will be held at 2770 Sherwood Lane, Suite H, on October 21st at 6 p.m. for those who wish to share food and memories. Ashes will be interred at the Bayview Cemetery in Ketchikan at a later date.
