Test of Salmon Creek emergency evacuation sirens at 10 a.m. Sept. 23

A test of the Salmon Creek emergency evacuation sirens is scheduled to be conducted by Alaska Electric Light and Power at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23.

It is only a test. People should not evacuate the area.

These periodic tests are part of the Salmon Creek Dam Emergency Action Plan to ensure an appropriate response should there ever be an actual emergency.

The National Weather Service in Juneau will test the Emergency Alert System (EAS) interrupting broadcast media in the Juneau Area.
