Longtime Juneauite, Daisy Johanna Davenport, passed away Dec. 31, 2025, peacefully in Juneau, Alaska, with her family by her side.

Daisy was born March 14, 1942, in Missoula, Montana, to John and Helen Ovnicek. She was the eldest of three children. The family lived in logging camps in Montana and moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, about 1945. Daisy attended Winton Elementary, Coeur'D'Alene Junior High and Coeur d'Alene High School, and married Ronald Halliday and had two daughters, Teresa and Holly.
In 1968 she married Billy Lee Davenport and had two sons, Bryan and Jonny. Billy and Daisy were married for 52 years before Billy passed in 2021.
Daisy was preceded in death by her parents John and Helen Ovnicek, brother Robert and a son-in-law Michael Luerra. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Teresa (Fred), Holly (George), Bryan (Trisha), and Jon, her eight granddaughters and their spouses/partners, Jannessa (Numi), Johanna (Shane), Gennevieve, Roxanne (Daryn), Teja, Marli, Jaden, and Tessa, her four great grandchildren, Chasity, Keleolani, Alexavian, and Archer, her sister Betty, and numerous extended family including three foster daughters, Julie, Paula, and Karen.
Daisy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Daisy loved the outdoors, enjoying hiking, skiing, and kayaking and led many Alaska adventures. She was also an avid bookworm and participated in book clubs throughout her life. She loved her family and her fur-babies, Buster, Mac, Shelly, Java, and Lily to name a few.
Daisy was an active member of St. Brendan’s Episcopal church and served in many capacities.
Daisy enjoyed Rock Steady Boxing and the friendships of others fighting the effects of Parkinson’s.
She is deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, at St. Brendan’s Episcopal church at 11 a.m. with refreshments to follow.
A second gathering will be held Sunday, March 15, at Riverview Assisted Living at 2 p.m. for her fellow residents.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations to Rock Steady Boxing or Juneau Parks and Recreation in Daisy’s honor would be greatly appreciated.
